We wanted to share some good news with you and your team about a special gift you will be receiving courtesy of BAE Systems in late January. As part of our New England promise to keep the upcoming season fun, inspiring and engaging, NE FIRST has teamed up with BAE Systems to provide each FRC 2021 registered team with a FREE complete kit of components to build and engage in a mini bot challenge. This mini bot will be using the Romi Chassis kit and Raspberry Pi among other components.
The BAE Systems FIRST Mini Bot Challenge will officially launch in late January, with two virtual competitive events in March and April. More details on the delivery of the kits will be provided once the components are received and assembled by our friends at FIRST New Hampshire and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).
In prep for this special New England event, you can watch the Hour of Code presented on FIRSTtv (Twitch) featuring a live tutorial on using the FIRST Robotics Competition Robot Simulator and deploying FIRST Robotics Competition code to the affordable Romi Chassis for code development at home. Tune in Saturday, December 12 at 1 pm ET to get a sneak peek of the Romi in action!
Happy holidays.
Peace & robots,
Kim
